CARIBOU COFFEE ANNOUNCES LARGEST DOMESTIC FRANCHISE DEAL TO DATE WITH COVELLI ENTERPRISES
Sam Covelli to develop over 100 locations throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida
WARREN, OH – April 25, 2023 – Caribou Coffee®, a national premium coffeehouse is pleased to announce the signing of its largest domestic franchise development deal to date with Covelli Enterprises. Sam Covelli, CEO of Covelli Enterprises, plans to open over 100 Caribou Coffee locations with his three children Candace, Albert and Danielle across the northern half of Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and Florida, including Orlando and along the east coast of the state from West Palm Beach to Miami. .
Caribou Coffee is part of the Panera Brands’ portfolio consisting of complementary brands bound by common values, which also includes Panera Bread® and Bagel Brands®. Covelli Enterprises is the largest franchisee of Panera Bread. Sam Covelli plans to grow the coffeehouse brand, just as he did when he first got involved with Panera Bread over 25 years ago. Covelli is proud to open the company’s first Caribou Coffee locations in Mahoning Valley where the company is based. The first location is expected to open later this year on the Ohio Turnpike in the Glacier Hills Plaza. Covelli Enterprises has plans to open a freestanding location with a drive-thru at the beginning of 2024 in Canfield, off Boardman-Canfield Rd. near the Covelli-owned Panera Bread. Covelli is also looking at potential locations in Boardman, Austintown, and Warren, OH.
