Chrissy Teigen Has Some Thoughts About Normalizing Formula Feeding

Chrissy Teigen knows what it means to go through the ups and downs of motherhood, so it goes without saying, that the Cravings author knows whats up in the parenting department.

On Sunday (November 29), Teigen, who recently suffered a miscarriage with her son, Jack, took to Twitter to share some controversial statements about normalizing formula. "Ok I'm gonna say something and you all are definitely gonna make it a thing but here goes: normalize formula,” she wrote, before sharing context to her stance. “Normalize breastfeeding is such a huge, wonderful thing. but I absolutely felt way more shame having to use formula because of lack of milk from depression and whatnot."

Teigen went on to point out that people have surrogates, as well as issues breastfeeding, but the primary message sent to all is how breast is the best. "'Normalize breastfeeding' is great. 'normalize formula' is great, too! so yeah. that's all! normalize formula! your baby is gonna be BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT, AND OKAY." she continued.

Teigen, who is a mom of two to Luna, 4, and Miles, 2, with John Legend, shared her own experience pumping milk, admitting that she got to the point where she could "only get an ounce." “The stress of it, combined with the guilt that you cannot do nature’s most natural thing for your own baby is too much. I dunno why this is my crusade now. I just remember the sadness I felt and want you to know you are doing it right if your baby is fed, mama," she concluded.
