R. Kelly had a run-in with Chicago police after an anonymous tipster claimed he was holding women hostage.

According to TMZ, the Cook County State Attorney's Office got a tip on Friday (January 11) that Kelly was holding two women against their will at his Trump Tower residence. Authorities reportedly raced to the property, where they made contact with R. Kelly and the alleged hostages. However, after officers arrived and they questioned the women separately from the 52-year-old singer, both women said they were at the residence voluntarily and nothing shady was going on. Police then left without incident.

After the occurrence, Kelly's attorney, Steve Greenberg, told the Chicago Tribune: "The police found nothing because there’s nothing wrong. No one’s doing anything wrong, so it's not surprising that the police found nothing was wrong. Those who are all appalled and up in arms should respect the fact that police have been there and they've verified that that there's absolutely nothing wrong."

The women in question were reportedly Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, both of whom have maintained they are with Kelly voluntarily, despite their parents' strong claims that they are victims of his brainwashing. As previously reported, Joycelyn and Azriel's families appeared in the gut-wrenching documentary series Surviving R. Kelly, which sent shockwaves throughout audiences with its gripping and harrowing recounts of Kelly's alleged sexual abuse — told by seven alleged survivors — over the last 20-plus years.

Kelly's lawyer recently denied all allegations against the disgraced singer, saying he "never knowingly" had intercourse with underage girls, and never "forced anyone to do anything." He also said that Kelly has "never held anyone captive," and "never abused anyone."

Kelly is currently under criminal investigation in Georgia.
