BTS, Doja Cat & J Balvin To Perform At The 2020 VMAs

BTS, Doja Cat, and J Balvin are bringing the music to the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards!

On Tuesday (August 4), the network unveiled its performers’ lineup for this year’s ceremony, airing live on Sunday, August 30, at 8:00 p.m. EST/PT.

Among the first round of music acts scheduled to perform during the show include the South Korean boy band — nominated for Best Pop, Best K-pop, and Best Choreography — who will be premiering their new single “Dynamite” live during the broadcast for the first time. (Though fans will be able to hear the track when it releases on August 21.)

In addition, BTS and the “Say So” songbird will make their VMAs debut later this month. As for the Latin superstar, J Balvin will be returning to the stage for the second time following last year’s explosive performance of "Qué Pretendes" alongside Bad Bunny.

Leading this year’s nominations are Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga, each scoring nine recognitions respectively. At six nods each, Billie Eilish and The Weeknd tie as the second-most nominated artists at the VMAs, J Balvin up for four honors, as well as Doja Cat and BTS in the running for three trophies that night. (See the full nominees list here.)

The show will be broadcast from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, marking the venue's first event since the COVID-19 pandemic struck earlier this year. As previously announced by MTV, the 37th annual event will feature "performances from various iconic locations across the city throughout all five boroughs to honor the spirit and resilience of New York."

Now through August 23, fans can start casting their votes across the show’s 15 gender-neutral categories by checking out the website here.
