The Las Vegas Raiders reportedly don't share a mutual interest with Pro Football Hall of Famer and current University of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.

The Athletic reported that the Raiders have no interest in hiring Sanders as their next head coach following the Las Vegas Review-Journal's report that he has a "very strong interest" in the position.

Sanders went 13-12 (8-10 in conference play) during his two seasons at Colorado, which includes a 9-4 (7-2 Big 12 Conference) finish in 2024, two years after the team went 1-11 (1-8 Pac-12) under his predecessor Karl Dorrell and 27-6 (19-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference) during three seasons at Jackson State from 2020 to 2022. The Pro Football Hall of Famer is credited for developing two-way superstar Travis Hunter into a Heisman Trophy winner in 2024, as well as both Hunter and his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, into two of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Raiders currently hold the No. 6 pick in the upcoming draft and have a need at quarterback, which would align the Hall of Famer's desire to continue coaching his sons, with Colorado safety Shilo Sanders also entering the draft, but projected to be taken in the later rounds. Las Vegas fired head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco last week following a 4-13 season.

Pierce was hired as full-time head coach last January after an impressive late season run, which included an upset of the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day, following the midseason firing of former head coach Josh McDaniels. The Raiders, however, failed to duplicate that success in 2024, which included a 10-game losing streak.

Las Vegas will now look to hire its fourth full-time head coach since relocating in 2020.
