Second Harvest Food Bank Executive Director Mike Iberis spoke to Gary & Lindsay Monday morning about the arrival of 20 members from the Ohio National Guard at that organization's headquarters today.
Gov. Mike DeWine declared Wednesday that the Ohio National Guard would be deployed to assist in transporting, packaging and distributing food to homes in vulnerable areas, community-based locations and partner agencies in rural counties.
Twenty local National Guard members will be stationed at Second Harvest beginning Monday and will be working full time there for the foreseeable future.
Second Harvest member agencies have seen a tremendous increase in demand from residents impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
